Val is home, full of blood thinners, exhausted, and sleeping. Doing okay. Not excited about giving herself daily blood-thinner shots in the stomach. 🙁
Blood thinners suck, but word is that folks with lung cancer are susceptible to blood clots, and now that Val’s had one, they want to make sure she never has another. How this will interact with her cancer (she’s already coughing up occasional blood from her lungs, which may be from cancer necrosis) or with her next treatment options we don’t know yet.
The plan is still for her to have a CT scan tomorrow and then meet with the oncologist Tuesday to determine next steps. I hope we will learn the results of the genetic testing from a couple months ago then too.
She’ll probably begin receiving very quiet visitors tomorrow. Thanks so much for all your many, many kindnesses.
