Hey y’all.
The last couple infusions (including yesterday’s) have been medically uneventful. The oncology department is switching over to some super-advanced new computer system, which means that during the transition months they have brought in extra staff to help out. This in turn has meant that for the last three doctor appointments we’ve been matched up with random pinch-hitter oncologists rather than the doctors who know Val and me and the particulars of our experience. It’s been a bit demoralizing to feel like regular riffraff after more than a year of lovingly personal attention from the cancer-study staff. We have firmly requested one of our regular oncologists for next time. (We thought we had firmly requested one for this time, so we have renewed the vigor of our firmness.)
Also, Val’s next CT scan is on the near horizon. At the moment it’s scheduled for the day before Thanksgiving, but Val may slide that back a day. So, for the next two weeks,
Our assignment is: Don’t become stress monkeys.
Your assignment is: Focus your divine love rays or whatever you’ve got on CT results as transparent and clean as a freshly-washed window.
Heartfelt thanks for continuing to walk with us on this uncertain and hopeful path.
Deborah
