Sunny day for an infusion

Hi all,

Val’s wrapping up her regular infusion this morning with a view of pigeons on the spine of a roof across the way.   All her numbers (white and red blood count, and about 45 other things) are back in the normal range.  The doc is thrilled she’s exercising and generally running around merrily.  For those of you who keep track: two cycles down the road – in 6 weeks – she’ll have the next CT scan and, just for kicks, a PET scan.  She feels great, looks great, has reunited with her beloved bicycle, and actually needs a haircut.

It’s a gorgeous cool spring-y sunny day in Portland.  I ducked out to the DMV where I only had to wait in line 5 minutes to renew my license.  (Shame about the dopey photo – who knew my eyes cross when I glance downward?) This week the tiniest little leaves began coming out on the earliest trees, just barely there but perfect in minute detail.  Yesterday at Reed Lake hummingbirds gibbered in the thickets, ducks and geese were shopping for comfy nesting spots, and a varied thrush flew across my path and posed on a branch in the sun.

Life rushes back.
