missing Betty

Friends,

Still no time to write, but I know people worry, so I just wanted to say Val and I are still here. Lots of big events in the last couple weeks, too big to encompass in hurried snippets. The biggest event is that the very beloved Betty Garrison, Valerie’s mother, died on Tuesday, at home and in the company of family. In order to transport Val safely and as comfortably as possible to Montana, we have rented an RV to make the drive (with excellent brother Brad as the main driver). We leave tomorrow and should return next week. Betty’s funeral will be on Monday morning. We appreciate all the love coming toward us and the rest of the family.

In Valerie’s words on Tuesday:

Betty Garrison, my sweet mama, took her last breath today after 87 years on the beautiful earth she loved. she was the center of things for so many of us. there is a great void now. she knew how to love so well. so kindly. she knew how to be welcoming to all. she loved God through tragedies and joys. i am so honored to have been hers.

Val & Betty, late 2012

Love,

Deborah

  1. I love that sweater. Is it a sweater? It is crazy with color. I’m glad she had those 87 years too.
