Yesterday we got the CT scan results. (The CT scan was Monday.) The tumor is slightly smaller. And then the doctor made an astonishing statement. Her (unproven) diagnostic hypothesis is that the tumor has died. that i am merely harboring the lifeless carcass of a once-great hunk of cancer. An army of macrophages (big white blood cells that eat invaders) is slowly breaking it down and carrying it away. Or it could just scar over. We are looking into getting a PET scan to confirm there is no cancerous metabolic activity in that area.
this is what they told us today. they used the words. “likely dead tissue.” am i really remembering right? i keep asking Deborah. i have not yet digested this. but it is good though i think.
this is good news.
we will write more later but I have to go to work now. To WORK for god’s sake.
