port

Hello dears,

They took Val’s PICC line out last week. Tomorrow she will have a port surgically implanted instead. Next week she’ll begin her second three-week cycle of Navelbine. At the end of those three weeks she’ll have a CT scan, and around then we should also get results from the genetic tests.

Her breath has been coming noticeably shorter in the last few weeks, and for the first time she gets winded pushing me in my wheelchair around a flat block. Riding her bike has also recently become almost too hard, and she tires easily, needing to nap or rest most days. She doesn’t feel horrible, but she always feels a bit under the weather, one way or another.

Sucks. Sucks sucks sucks.

The good thing about October is that we have visits from several favorite people planned. The first arrived yesterday, so we’ll make a party of it at surgery tomorrow.

Love,

D
