Hola! Here’s a quick update:
Val is just back from Montana and I’m just back from Oaxaca. We both had viruses and we are both getting better from them.
She continues to breathe well and although she is chronically fatigued, she is doing much, much better than she was a few weeks ago. Moderate appetite, no nausea, hardly any coughing to speak of, no fever, bronchitis conquered.
Val met with various OHSU folks this week. Results of her genetic testing show that she does not have the mutation that responds especially well to Tarceva, so she will join the Merrimack trial as a “wild type.” They randomized her into the trial this afternoon, and it turns out she will get both Tarceva and the infused drug. More bang for our buck! Monday she begins the trial.
