My dears,
Val has caught some kind of virus and has been miserable with a fever of 101-103 since Tuesday. Last night the fever finally broke for a while, but it’s creeping back up again. She’s been coughing again, can’t keep food down, and just generally feels weak and awful.
This morning she’s at OHSU for a biopsy (to the get the tissue needed for DNA study and for the trial she may join). The docs looked at her latest scan and determined that the best site for biopsy (even after radiation) is still the tumor above her clavicle, which is a relief because it means they will not have to do the more invasive bronchoscopy to get the tissue.
I am sick too and have had to stay home from work for several days. It’s been kind of a crummy week, to be honest. Even the dog threw up.
Our wonderful friends continue to rally to help out with meals, chauffeuring, supportive messages, dog-walking, and more. Thanks, y’all.
