Last Chemo (for the time being)

The time being. now that’s an interesting phrase. poetic. all sorts of juicy implications.this being the time now time. this pool of time you see before you? it is yours. dive in. everything else is unknown. off the edge.

i must tell you i am feeling better. it all started yesterday afternoon. my gumption was just there all of a sudden. I finished my taxes, ate a sandwich and there it was standing in the middle of the living room.  just in time for me to feel just full of enthusiasm about heading back into the drip factory to receive the chemical manna. thankfully i have some short term memory issues (chemo related) and have completely forgotten the trauma from my last time. i’m sure it wasn’t that bad.

so i get the chemo. then i get to feel worse, but then i get to feel better.  and maybe even better after that even. and that is not a small issue. better. the body is an amazing beast. and i am so excited to be able to be a participant in facilitating my own health. to work with my immune system and not against it. it will be a truce. together we can find a new way to rid ourselves of this madness manifest.

to celebrate the time being. to dive in naked. splash around a bit.

  1. Everybody’s cancer experience is different, but just about everybody celebrates finishing up that last chemo. Hope you’re already planning something fun to do after the last chemo is done and gone!
